How to Make a Heart Shaped Cake

My mom and I made this heart shaped cake for Valentines Day, but I think it could be fun for a birthday, anniversary, or even just because!

What you need to make a heart shaped cake

cake recipe (a box cake mix is perfect)
square pan
circle pan
wax paper

Give the batter a little taste test…

Make sure and put wax paper under the pans so the cakes come on out easily…

How to make a heart shaped cake

Step 1- Bake and cool

The first step is to bake a square and circle cake according to the directions on the box. The hardest part of this is absolutely letting the cake cool before you turn it into a heart.

Step 2- Rotate the square cake

First, turn the square cake on an angle to make a diamond.

Step 3- Cut circle cake in half

Then, cut the circle cake in half and place each semi circle to the top of the diamond. Bam. Heart cake!

Step 4- Make a stencil

I made a very fancy stencil out of a peice of whit eprinter paper. Simply, cut a heart out of the middle and lay on top of the cake. Then, sprinkle!

So stinking cute, and sure to brighten up anyone’s day!
