This is one of those projects I’ve been putting off and putting off. I thought I was going to stencil and paint “Change is good” on my jar, and I just couldn’t decide on stencil lettering. So I just kept on staring at my white jar. Major craft dilemmas over here. Then I found these awesome Martha Stewart chalkboard labels lurking in my desk drawer! And I got really excited, and whipped this project out in 10 minutes flat.
I bought the white jar at Good Will for $1.99, it had some sticky stuff on it, but nothing a little goo gone can’t get rid of. I liked the size and shape and we really needed a place for change on the entry table. I have the chalkboard labels leftover from when I gave my home office nook in Florida a little makeover. You can get the Martha Stewart ones at Staples or here are 22 chalkboard labels on Amazon for $10.95!
I wasn’t exactly sure how I wanted to write “Change is good” on my jar, but lucky for me this white pencil rubs right off the chalkboard label with a little spit or uhh… water. I just doodled on my label, and used a q-tip to erase when necessary. Clearly, I had a hard time deciding what to do with the word “is”.
Then, I just stuck my little sticker on my jar and voila! Easy stinkin’ peasiest craft eva.
And while were on the subject of entry way tables, I never actually showed you my b-day present that I said I was going to show you in the hanging a really heavy mirror post. Without further ado, Andy bought me this table from World Market for my burfday, which was back in June! (More on that here.) It was a surprise table too! It is the Aiden Console table from World Market. She’s the perfect size and even has a shelf so we can hide our wires and internet cords under! Oh and those yellow and turquoise bean bags, those are for the corn hole boards outside. And here are more living room pictures of our current living room.
And here’s my happy little change jar, one more time:
Do you have a change jar? Do you get really excited to turn in all of your change? We’re saving up for something awesome, just not sure what yet! Anyone else?

Cute idea! I like the idea of the chalkboard labels… that way you can still “change it up”! lol.

That turned out so cute! It’s nice that you can change what the label says and potential use for the jar in the future. We have a change basket on Hubby’s nightstand that we periodically run thru the Coinstar machine at the grocery store and use for iTunes money.
