In case you didn’t know, I have the most adorable baby in all of the land. True! And I’ve clearly turned into an obnoxious, crazy over picture sharing mom! Being a mom is really the toughest job ever, I mean I’m trying to do it all right, but it’s hard, y’all! There is so much to learn (15 things I’ve already learned right here). Oh and you have to learn it all on very little sleep. (What’s up with that?!) And yea, the internet, that place is scary! With all of it’s information and opinions about everything from vaccines to breastfeeding to tummy time, and heck, even when you are supposed to brush their little teeth or gums! Yep, gums need brushin’ too!
So, today’s dilemma… When to start brushing baby teeth or gums? I asked on C.R.A.F.T. facebook, and got lots of answers, you can see them all here. I agree with Aquafresh that good habits start now! And Aquafresh is, after all, the little mouth experts ™. I mean, why not start them while they’re young so brushing is just part of life? Makes sense to me. That way when he does grow teeth, he’s already used to the daily brushing routine. He’s 10 weeks old this week, and we are working on a nightly routine and I just added brushing the gums to it!

June 23rd will be the 3 month mark when we whip out the tooth paste! Oh and use the product as directed on label. How old was your baby when you started brushing? And another, when did your baby get teeth? I’ve heard it can be as early as 3 months or as late as a year. I was the late bloomer who did not get a tooth until I was one year old!

My baby got her first tooth right around 6 months and her second about a month later. We only recently started brushing, but she LOVES it. There is no fight or whining. She opens right up and babbles while we brush away. She has now started holding the toothbrush and making the brushing movements herself. It’s the cutest thing ever, except maybe maxwell using the toothbrush as a mustache prop!

ahh, Maxwell is just too cute!! Our little guy is almost 11 months and has only one tooth…we laugh because his toothbrush is literally a tooth-brush. Will definitely have to check out the toothpaste, I didn’t even know they made ones for babies, we have just been using water.
