If you’ve been hanging out at C.R.A.F.T. for any amount of time, you know my cooking style is simple, easy and healthy-ish, assuming we are not talking about desserts! I love crockpot recipes and the less ingredients the better! (5 ingredient salsa, anyone?) 3 ingredient pie is one of Andy’s favorite desserts and one of my favorites to make. Read: it takes 8 minutes of prep time and then a few hours in the freezer! It’s a no bake dessert, y’all!
3 ingredients:
- Cookies and cream ice-cream
- Pie crust
- COOL WHIP
Typically I would use an Oreo pie crust, but Target was out, and I was too lazy to search another store.
And here are the ever so complicated instructions: Let the ice cream sit out for a about 20 minutes before you’re ready to mix up the pie. You could also put the carton in the microwave for a minute or so if you forget to set out the ‘scream. When the ice-cream is a little mushy, dump the entire carton into the mixing bowl. Add the COOL WHOP. Stir together. Taste test!
Dump the mixing bowl contents into your pie crust. Spread the concoction around evenly. Attempt to make a few fancy designs on the top. Stick the pie in the freezer and let it freeze for at least 3 hours. If you’re extra fancy drizzle some chocolate syrup on top. I’m not that fancy. I’m too lazy to go back to the store to get the syrup! How yummy does that look?
You can make lots of pie varieties with this recipe just by switching up the ice cream and the crust flavor. How about a mint chocolate pie with an Oreo crust or a Blue Bell cherry cheesecake with a chocolate crust. Ohhh or peppermint and Oreo. You get the point. It’s easy and you’ll love it. Have you ever made a pie like this? What’s your favorite combo? Are you a cookies and cream fanatic? How about chocolate malts? Oh and if you I were smart, I would have gone back to the store for chocolate syrup and drawn a ghost on top. How cute would that have been? Spill the beans…

My grandson’s favorite ice cream is black raspberry chocolate chip and we put it in a chocolate cookie crust.

Who doesn’t love ice cream pie? My guys would go for mint chocolate chip, but the cookies and cream looks good to me.
