There are not a whole lot of “I” animals too choose from. It was basically either an iguana or an impala. I went with I is for iguana because it sounded like a fun challenge!
For this toilet paper roll craft you will need a cereal box and you will only need 1/3 of a toilet paper roll or a 2.5 inch segment of a paper towel roll. You can see the iguana body I cut out of the cereal box below. Then I used a pencil to mark the width of the toilet paper tube and cut 2 small slits in the iguanas body so that it will fit onto the top of the toilet paper tube. Then just cut out the tiny feet, and your iguana is complete!
And just for fun here are are the toilet paper tube animals so far. Trying to take a “school picture” of toilet paper tube creatures took way longer than it should have, ha! Here are links to all of the tutorials:
- A is for anteater
- B is for beaver
- C is for cat
- D is for dog
- E is for elephant
- F is for fish
- G is for giraffe
- H is for horse
- I is for iguana
And here are a few fun iguana facts:
- Green iguanas have been known to grow up to 6 feet long!
- Iguanas have a 3rd eye! This eye helps to detect movement from above, like a bird!
- Iguanas can survive a fall from 40 feet!
- They are excellent swimmers.
