Q is for Quail! I mean really what other “Q” options did I have?! There are 2 other fun Q animals: A quokka and A quoll! Just for fun, a quokka is a small marsupial found in western parts of Australia, and the quoll is a nocturnal mammal also found in parts of Australia!
The toilet paper roll pig is pretty simple:
- 1 toilet paper roll
- Scissors
- Single hole punch
- Pencil
- Sharpie marker
- Glue
- White scrap paper
- Cereal box
First, cut the top 1/3 of the tp roll off. Now, it’s time to make the quails head. On the back of a cereal box, use a pencil to draw a circle with a triangular beak and a check marked shape feather sticking out of the top of the circle. Use a black marker to outline the quails head, and then cut it out. The quail’s head will attach just like the numbats head attaches to the tp roll, with a simple slit.
Here are the other animal toilet paper roll crafts in the alphabet series:
- A is for anteater
- B is for beaver
- C is for cat
- D is for dog
- E is for elephant
- F is for fish
- G is for giraffe
- H is for horse
- I is for iguana
- J is for jellyfish
- K is for kangaroo
- L is for llama
- M is for mouse
- N is fo numbat
- O is for octopus
- P is for pig
And now for a few fun facts about quails:
- The distinct “bad hair day” look of the quail is known as a plume, and it bobs as they walk.
- Quails can lay 10-20 eggs at one time.
- Quails can only fly a short distance.
Next Tuesday I’ll have a letter R toilet paper tube creature ready for you! Can you guess what R creature I’m crafting up?!
