My mom and I made this for Valentines Day, but I think it could be fun for a birthday, anniversary, or even just because!
What you need to make a heart shaped cake
- cake recipe (box cake mix is perfect)
- square pan
- circle pan
- wax paper
Give the batter a little taste test…
Make sure and put wax paper under the pans so the cakes come on out easily…
First, turn the square cake on an angle to make a diamond. Then, cut the circle cake in half and place each semi circle to the top of the diamond. Bam. Heart cake!
I made a very fancy stencil out of plain ‘ol printer paper…
So stinking cute, and sure to brighten up anyone’s day!

Im guessing you cut the top of the cake to be flat right?
