Valentines Day is less than a month away, and I finally got my act together and made the kids classroom Valentines. Max picked “I wheelie like being your friend” paired with a Hot Wheels car for each of his 7 classmates and Mila wanted lollipops. I didn’t have a free lollipop Valentine printable, so I made one. I came up with “You Make My Heart Pop” and attached the lolly pop to the cards stock card.
Here’s what you need to make sucker Valentines
- Free printable Valentine card (See below)
- Card stock (I used different shades of pink.)
- Black marker
- Tape
- Lolly pops (These are our favorite!)
How to make lollipop Valentines
If you’re looking for a non candy Valentine option for your toddler consider adding a balloon to the top of this card! Update: I ended up making another free printable Valentine for balloons!
Step 1- Download the free lollipop Valentines
First, download the “You make my heart pop” free printable Valentine. All you need to do is enter your name and email address below and the free file will be delivered to your inbox! The lollipop Valentines come 4 to a page.
Step 2- Print
For best results, use card stock to print the valentines. I purposefully made these Valentines black ink only, so I recommend printing on colored card stock. I used different shades of pink card stock.
Step 3- Cut & Doodle
Next, use scissors to cut around each Valentine. You will end up with 4 Valentines per sheet. Then, draw a small heart after “You make my” and then have your child sign their name at the bottom of the card. My daughter added her special touch to the back oft he Valentine cards too.
Step 4- Attach the lolly pop
The last thing to do is attach the lollipop to the Valentine card. Poke the stick of lollipop through the card stock and then used a peice of tape to secure the lolly pop to the back of the card. As you can see below, I let Mila color on the back of every Valentine card.
Mila is so excited to hand out her lollipop Valentines. Everyday before school she asks, “Do I get to bring the lolly pops today?” I suppose I’m teaching her lesson in patience, ha!
