Halloween 2023 was all about that candy for my kids! Costumes can not prohibit speed! Last year my son was a taco, and that made running tricky. This year, he made up our family soccer costumes. He and his sister were supposed to be soccer platers (she detoured last second), I was a referee and Andy was a soccer mom, ha!
Y’all need a full body soccer mom costume picture. We pulled the brown wig out of the costume box, my 7 year old did his makeup and he borrowed my Lululemon crossbody bag!
Mila changed her mind last minute and really wanted to be a ghost, so we made it happen. I cut a white twin sheet in half, made a head hole and attached felt to the white sheet with safety pins. She was very clear that she did not want the sheet covering her face, so we decided on a white bucket hat! Super easy!
DIY Halloween Costumes 2023
My friends rocked DIY Halloween costumes 2023. Here are 3 amazing DIY Halloween costumes for y’all!
1. Adams Family Costumes
Meredith is a C.R.A.F.T. costume genius and has been included in many Best of Halloween costume posts! The only Adams Family costume she bought was Cousin It. All of the others were pieced together with thrift store finds and from their closets.. (See DIY Grinch costumes here and Willy Wonka costumes here.)
2. Monsters Inc Boo Costume
Hannah dressed her adorable baby up as Boo from Monsters Inc. I love that this costume is so simple, comfortable, and cute! Grab an oversized toddler pink t-shirt, purple leggings, white socks, and of course pig tails!
3. DIY Oven costume
How cute is my friend Amanda’s tiny oven?! Please don’t miss the blueberry pie in the oven. I love when parents let little ones costume dreams come true! Remember when Max wanted to be a golden super hammer, ha?!
