My mom and I totally made over my college desk! This thing cost $100 dollars and has been a big part of my home since college…
It was time for a makeover in order to be a part of the Multi Purpose room!
Here is the room inspiration:
Before:
see the ring stain…that was there when we bought it, and the reason it has the stained checkered pattern…
Taking the desk apart…
The drawer has been broken since the day I bought it, and it was always a little wobbly…the bf and mama helped fix both of these issues!
Sanding…
I sanded the entire piece lightly…just make sure you can not feel any ridges
Here is the spray paint we used:
Spray painting…
Put the legs back on the base and begin the spray pain process. I used Rust- Oleum brand oil based spray paint…the entire desk took 3 cans. The trick to spray paint is s l o w and steady. Let the layers dry in between and spray at least 18in. away from the object!
After:
Update: The desk got another addition…HERE is that tutorial!

Nice work! I actually like the sanded down top of the desk too. Looks like a Ballard wall hanging. :d

Hello! What a remarkable transformation this was, I love it. Although I also loved the checkered board pattern it had, minus the circled stain, but it came out great. Anyway, I'm tagging behind from the Tuesday blog hop – but I made it here – and I'm your newest follower.
Hope you'll visit my blog and follow me too?
Thanks! http://hauplight.blogspot.com/
