I have some pretty earth shattering news over here. OK, fine… maybe not earth shattering, but exciting for me! My name and this C.R.A.F.T. are in this book, Mend It Better!
Awhile back Kristin posted about her book in progress on her blog, Craft Leftovers, and asked for unique mending submissions. I submitted my one and only mending trick that I learned in China. Low and be hold… she liked it and decided to use it in her book! I filled out a little submission form, sent Andy’s and I’s mended jeans to a publisher to be photographed, and here they rest forever, published in a pretty cool book all about creative mending solutions!
The book is full of great ideas, craft projects, and of course mending solutions… This project discusses how to add pockets to anything. In my crafty opinion, pockets make everything better, and I never knew how easy it was to add them.
Check out this tip for sewing holes in leather. It’s a sneaky stitch that on the outside, shows only 2 neat rows of stitches.
Zippers have always been a problem for me. I’m going to read and re read these pages about sewing in zippers.
I’ve always wondered about when to use a single or double thread and if you’re supposed to knot the thread or not…
I love history and really enjoyed the tid bits of history throughout the book about mending…
And here is my name again… with the blog! You have no idea how excited this makes me 🙂

Oh Jamie, that is AWESOME….. and you got me like seriously wanting to get my hands on that book,,, lol. I think this book would be way more practical for someone like me, who doesn't exactly know how to sew, lol. It looks like it has very useful tips to do some basic things, like hello, add a pocket, or patch a hole in my kids jeans, yeah, thats useful, lol.
AND,,, OMG,,, you are getting married, wooo hoooo…. I hope you plan on sharing lots of pictures with us!!
I love your blog so much, and have been horrible at keeping up, but I redid my blog roll again, and now I have all my FAV BLOGS updated daily on there. So I can hopefully keep up better.
