The BF has been begging me to fix these holes in his jeans for some time now. They randomly appear on my sewing table! I’ve been very hesitant because the holes are in the knees and my sewing machine can not reach them. (I’m a good butt patcher!) I decided to get brave with the knee, and I’m happy I did…it was a super easy fix!
here is a close up of the damage:
This is why I was scared…you have to seam rip all the way up the inside of the leg…
The last thing you need to do is sew up the inseam, and there you have it. The BF loves his patches and honestly, I kind of like patching!
How do you fix holes in knee? Do you use the iron ons? Do they work well? Do you love or hate the look of the crazy patch? I’d love to hear your thoughts…

My mom uses the iron on patches for my dad's pants and it seems to work great. However I used them on some pants I had that were the stretch denim, and that was horrible because they didn't stretch with the pants when I moved. (Guess I should have thought of that.)

It never even crossed my mind to hand stitch the knee hole or to use any other fabric then denim…! Thanks for the tips 🙂 Patterns would be super cute on kids clothes or maybe even mine, I wonder if the BF would let me use polka dot fabric on his next patch 🙂

Well, whether I like them or not does not matter. What does matter is that your way of "patching" the hole can be found on some very expensive jeans in stores. LOL You've got the designer touch!

This is the same way I have patched jeans for years, it holds up really well and I think it is cute. Sometimes instead of denim for the patch I choose a fun stripe or polka dot fabric, I kinda love patching too! 🙂

You know, my dad always patched his own jeans, and he pretty much did the same thing, except he hand sewed, so he didn't have to rip any seams.

I love the crazy patch! I would be intimidated by the seam ripping too. But you did awesome!
