I’ve made a few extra fancy business card designs in my day… out of things like cereal boxes and paint chips. My most recent version is pretty special if you like splatter paint and/or coffee.
Andy had a Panera Bread catered work event and coffee sleeves ended up in his take home bag. They sat on our kitchen table for weeks… I just couldn’t bring myself to throw them away. I mean look at that texture! I’m attending Haven at the end of June (I’m pretty dang excited about the speakers), and needed some new business cards. This was perfect. I stared at these for weeks…
The interchangeable middles on the stamp were fun. I have 2 C.R.A.F.T. related personalized stamps. I decide to switch it up combine my 2 stamps. I did my url around the C for C.R.A.F.T. instead of my name and email as you see on the stamp in the stamp in this picture. (I need a new stamp with Jamie Dorobek!)
Here’s a tip for the stamp ink situation… use a paint pen to label the bottom of the ink pads. I don’t know how else you could keep them straight since many of the ink colors look alike on the ink pad.
I stamped all my little squares first and then deiced to use the sewing technique on them. The same thing I did with the cereal boxes. I fed the cards through the sewing machine like this, cut them apart and then did it again…
I just put a little paint on the brush and a lot of water and used my finger to splatter my cards. I think it worked best to splatter first, and stamp second.
I attempted a doodle with a paint pen… it got cut.
I printed out some more blurbs and glued them on the back.
I must say, business cards are pretty fun to make. They don’t take too long and best of all (after you buy the stamp) they’re free!
Each one is unique… some got a lot of doodle, and a few even got colorful doodles…

I love this idea and the cereal box one too. But the above business card idea is my favorite. I was wondering, where did you order you stamp from? I am having a hard time finding someone to make me a custom stamper for my recently started (last nite) craft business. I saw how a stamp with your logo put on simple brown paper packaging for photography prints (my hobbies are crafting and photography) and it looked so nice.

What a great idea, it’s amazing how almost anything can be reused. Funny, I keep stuff around too until I finally find a use for it. Then I’m so glad I did.
