Who doesn’t need a little extra sunshine in their day?! I love this cute gift idea for all kinds of occasions… birthday, bad day, get well soon, congratulations, house warming, I mean a bouquet of sunshine is perfect for almost any occasion. Today I’m teaming up with Melanie from You Are My Fave as part of a fun collaboration with Alt Summit (more on that here!) to bring y’all two fun ideas for care packages!
Here’s what you’ll need to make a bouquet of sunshine:
- Yellow vase (or paint a terra cotta one yellow)
- Yellow packaged candy and treats (I used Peanut M&M’s, gold coins, Mini Vanilla Wafer packages, Butterfingers, Milky Way caramel, Cliff Kids Fruit and Veggie Rope Mango Mania, and Banana Lafft Taffy ropes)
- A few pieces of styrofoam
- Green paper grass or string (This is similar to what I used.)
- Hot glue gun
- Clear tape
- Bamboo skewers
Anything yellow works!
Now to put your bouquet of sunshine together! First, heat up your hot glue gun and glue styrofoam into your vase. This does not need to be neat or pretty looking, it just needs to be secure!
Next, start attaching treats to your bamboo sticks with clear tape. I tried hot glue, and trust me, clear tape is the way to go! I started by sticking the bigger packages, Nilla Wafers and Peanut M&M’s in the back of the vase. Then just start taping and poking in more bamboo sticks. The beauty of this craft is that you really can’t mess it up, you can always add more treats to a stick or move a stick or re-tape!
The Laffy Taffy ropes are taped to 2 bamboo sticks, and I used the Cliff Kid ropes to cover up the wooden bamboo sticks in the front. After you finally determine that you are happy with the placement of all of of your treats and sticks just add the green grass to the bottom of the vase. No tape or glue needed!
And here’s one more of the whole thing!
Have you ever made someone a bouquet of sunshine? Kind of fun, huh?!

Cute! I did a sunshine basket not that long ago and it was really well-recieved. This is a cute take on the idea. And I have to say – you had better luck finding treats in yellow wrappers than I did. I ended up having to go with some orange things too.
I am co-hosting the #HomeMattersParty link party this month and would love to have you stop by for a visit. The door is open now through Monday night.
