I’ve been dreading this task of organizing the craft closet. It’s literally a heap of random crap and stuff falls out every time I open the cabinet doors. Just for the record I don’t actually have a closet, it’s more of a craft cabinet. It’s huge though, I think there is more space in my new craft cabinet than there was in my craft closet in Florida. Yikes :/
It’s really hard to take pictures in here because the built in cabinet is in the hallway, so the pics have to be taken sideways. Clearly, it’s a mess. I have plastic containers galore and random crap everywhere. It’s lovely. Then, Rubbermaid All Access Organizers asked me to check out their new plastic containers, and well, I’ve got a think for containers, so I was delighted! The fabric up there on the tip shelf really needed a home. The pile continues to grow, and it needs to be contained. And voila! All of the fabric from the top shelf fit into a large container.
This one is going to blow you away. Here’s the complete after of the avalanche craft cabinet… It’s actually kind of pretty, right?
I didn’t get rid of much, I just put it all in containers. And the really crazy part, the whole organization process, after I bought the new bins, only took about 30 minutes! I know. I shocked myself. And to think I was so scared of this thing for so long. So, the turquoise bin on the bottom holds computer paper, card stock, construction paper, and felt. Oh and my favorite sized cutting board lives on top of that container, for easy access. See:
I like these all access organizers for a few reasons:
- You can see and easily access what is stored inside with the clear drop-down door
- The fact that you could stack them and still access the goodies is awesome
- Opens from the top or front, again super handy if I did want to stack ’em up
One more time, here’s a close up of the top 2 shelves before:
And here is the new and improved spiffy version:

Wow! I wish I’d thought of that! The door on the side is genius! I hate to stack bins, knowing I’ll just have to pull each one down to get to the good stuff. Craft closet looks great btw!

I 100% agree.. stacking big bins just to know you have to pull them down in the future is no bueno!
