I don’t know about you, but we are bad grocery store people. I probably go the store 5 times a week, and I usually just got to get stuff for a specific meal. The really annoying thing is that I kept forgetting the things you don’t buy all of the time, like honey. 5 trips to the store in one week, and darn honey. Annoying. This is why I decided to make us a little magnetic memo board for the f ridge. That why every time I stuck my big head in the fridge I would have to see what we need, and hopefully that would help it stick in my head a little better for the next grocery run!
Does anyone else have this issue or is just me?!
So, DecoArt sent me a super fun box of paint and stencils…
And the magnetic memo board became a reality! Here’s what you need:
- white frame
- strong magnets
- card stock
- Americana multi-surface satins paints
- stencil
- stencil brush
Pick a stencil, any stencil and stencil a portion of it onto your card stock. Like, so:
I used the Americano Retro Mod stencil:
Let your card stock dry, and stick it back into your white frame. Here’s a trick, make sure you love the design and color, because once you glue on the magnets it’s going to be a pain to get the card stock back out of the frame! I glued on 6 magnets. You might need more or less depending on the weight of your frame and the magnetic power of your fridge and magnets!
The last step is to hot glue a magnet to the dry erase marker so you don’t lose it! Easy peasy! Oh and here is the dino magnet tutorial!
And I’ve got a good deal for ya! You can buy Americana Multi-Surface Satins at Michaels, A.C. Moore, Hobby Lobby, and other fine craft retailers. The good deal part comes in when you buy 5, you get $3 bucks back. So, 5 craft paints for $2! That’s a good deal, friends!
So whadduya think? Are you an organized grocery shopper? Or do you need a magnetic memo board to help you remember? If you are one of those organized list shoppers, the memo could be useful for sweet love notes to the fam or appointment reminders!
