A few things to note:
- The “curtain” was a piece of burlap that I painted, and hot glued ribbon around. The giant clothes pins have been around for quite some time.
- The yarn web is the cheapest, cutest way to hang a lot pictures…
- Canvas fashion art was another inexpensive little project, I collected old canvases, painted over ’em, and added little scraps of fabric outfits! Never throw away a canvas!
- The bedding was my one big splurge. I loved it, and I still really like it. At the moment, it lives in the closet. But one day I will bring it back! It came from Anthropologie.
- The red bench was from a church garage sale for $10
- The ties were from Good Will, and I stole the yellow pillow from my mom’s house.
- I was really into making shower curtain pillows for awhile. I filled them with scraps of fabric.
This beauty was in my kitchen. I’m not sure where I was going with this… most of my decor followed me through college, this painting did not make it out of this apartment 🙂 I did use the mosaic table for a long time.
With all of the students heading back to college, I hope this gives you a few ideas to jazz up your apartment 🙂 Or at least, a few ideas of what not to do (i.e. paint an old canvas gold and black checkered and hot glue random knick knacks on it)! This was my next apartment efficiency… you can see the things that came with me and the stuff that was left on the curbside…

Our apartment! We had some fun times there 🙂 Remember your faulty toilet?? And do you remember our landlords name? And that stupid awful clock that wouldn’t stay on the living room wall? I wish I had some pictures of the living room and the BRIGHT ORANGE/RED wall! miss you!

Jessie!! Yes, I do remember our crazy wall and annoying clock! Do you have any pics? I do not remember our land lords name? We need to catch up next time in town…and I want to meet the little man. Last time I was home, I noticed the Souper Salad was GONE! xo

Amazing. My first apartment had cinder block walls and zero fun or personality.
