[I think these would make great gifts!]
1: pin the fancy fabric pieces to a backing (i use cheap sheets/pillow cases, others use muslin)
2: tack them down — i’m sure there’s a way to do this with a machine, i just don’t have one
3: fancy stitches with embroidery thread — the lady that taught me taught me to use dmc – size 8 thread. it’s hard to find at any ol’ store though. plain ol’ embroidery thread works well. may need to split it if it’s too think? other fancy things are used (see pics to come) as well. you can find lots of stitches and/or how to’s through google and youtube
4: i’ve always just used a plain back – sew inside out just like you do other pillows and such….flip, stuff, close up. note the ruffles on one of those attached ones.
