I did a craft, y’all! I’ve actually been doing a lot of crafts, the hard part is getting them on the ol’ blog! Baby boy only sleeps so much!
So, here’s the deal, Cricut teamed up bloggers from the Cricut Explore launch event and gave us a challenge. I’m always up for a challenge! I’m part of team 5 and this is the paper craft round! Oh and our theme is 5, thus my high 5 notecards! Y’all this craft so stinkin’ easy. I made 40 notecards in an hour! They make really cute 1st day of school teacher gifts if you wrap up 10 or so with envelopes and a cute ribbon! Teachers can use them to send home to kids or parents or even give to other teachers!
I uploaded the hand image (tutorial here) and cut out 40 of them on hot pink card stock. I did this with Maxwell sleeping in his rocker right next to me. True! The Cricut Explore is quiet! I used a paper cutter to cut sheets of card stock in half and folded each one. Then, I glued my hand on the front of the card! So easy. I used a sharpie to make the conversation bubble and write “high five!”
Here are the high five notecards in all of their glory!
After you get the cards made, wrap them up with a ribbon and a little to/from card. I also made that on the Cricut Explore. Again super simple! I used the “boys will be boys” block font and the same little hand image from the card! After it was cut, I glued it to a piece of black card stock!
Teachers, likey? Useful gifts are the best in my opinion! Here’s another fun 1st day of school gift… and ironically enough, I used Max on this gift over a year ago! Do you bring teacher gifts to the first day of school? I’d love to hear…

This is super cute! I think I’ll get out my Cricut and experiment with a similar idea for a teach holiday card!

No Cricut here, but would love to own one! Instead, I’m going to use your idea and hand-cut them to send to my teacher friends during the first week of school. Teachers need appreciation and encouragement every day of the year!
