Y is for yak! And much like the X, there aren’t a whole lot of animals that start with Y. From what I could find my choices were Yorkshire Terrier, Yellow Eyed Penguin, Yak, and a few animals that start with yellow! Yak won for cuteness sakes, I mean look at this guy!
Here’s what you need to make the toilet paper roll yak:
- 1 toilet paper roll
- Scissors
- Single hole punch
- Pencil
- Sharpie marker
- Glue
- White scrap paper
- Cereal box
Grab your empty cereal box and doodle on the yak head. Remember, erasers are your friend! The key to the yak is wild hair on top and horns. Once you like the head shape, outline it with black marker and cut it out of the cereal box! Add 2 small dots for nostrils. Next, hole punch out two circles for the eyes and glue them to the yak’s head. Don’t forget to add 2 black pupils to the yak’s eyes! Next, use a pencil to draw 2 front legs on your yak. Then outline it with black maker and cut each one out with scissors. Lastly, glue the yak’s head onto his body and voila!

And now for a few fun facts about yaks:
- Yaks have long, bushy tails which are used for the production of fake beards in certain Chinese theaters.
- Yaks are herbivores, this just means they are plant eaters. They graze grass, lichens, moss and eat tubers.
- Yaks have hooves that are split to help with moving across rocky and icy terrains.
- 90% of all known yaks are found in Tibetan Plateau in the Himalayas.
- Yak dnug (or poop!) is used as fuel!
Next Tuesday I’ll share the last toilet paper tube creature with y’all! Z is for….?!
