Ugly Christmas Sweater Inspired Ornaments

I teamed up with Expressions Vinyl and 20 of my favorite bloggers to share a bunch of really awesome DIY Chrsitmas ornaments all made with vinyl! I love how my ugly Chrsitmas sweater inspired ornaments turned out for our toddler friendly Christmas tree.  Best of all, I did not even have to get out my cutting machine. I just used a plain ol’ pair of scissors for the these bad boys. Eight ornaments completed in under 30 minutes is a major win for this busy mama!

All you need for these DIY ornaments is:

• Red adhesive vinyl
• Scissors
• Hole punch
• Wooden ornament cut outs (I got mine at Jo-Ann Stores. They came as a garland kit with 8 ornaments to a pack for $2.99. Here are some similar unfinished wood ornaments on Amazon. A pack of 25 costs $9.95.)
• Twine (This came in the pack I got from Jo-Anns.)

These ugly Chrsitmas sweater inspired ornaments are super simple and fun to make. If you plan on hosting an ugly Christmas sweater party this year, these would be perfect for a little craft station. In case you did not know, crafting gets the party started!

There is really no right or wrong method to this madness. But, I used scissors to cut long strips of red vinyl and then cut the strips into different lengths. If you own a cutting machine you could certainly make these even fancier, but me and my scissors stuck to the basics. Oh and I did whip out a hole punch for a little circle action. The hole punched cut the vinyl perfectly.

Think of the the sheet of vinyl as a giant sticker. You can cut anything out of it and simply stick it on the wooden ornament cut out. When you’re ready, just turn your ornament over, and trim off the access vinyl.

I love how they look all together!
