- wasted space (I only used the front 18 in. the space under the shelf was a dust collector)
- no storage
- impossible to hide wires
- difficult to dust (not that I did it all that often!)
- particle board (ultimately what made us DIY the suspended version!)
- perfect size
- hide wires in a cubby
- super easy to vacuum under and wipe of the top
- REAL wood
- 2 storage cubbies
This is why I’m over particle board for furniture I use all the time:
Other changes in the living room include little things like the frame turned candle holder. (Also fun to note that was the second ever post on C.R.A.F.T.!)
It just makes more sense. For some reason we have 3 remotes, I couldn’t even tell you what they do, but at least they have a home.
But, I still like cutting the nook off…
Do you have an amazing wire solution? Do you change your decor all the time or just move stuff around so it looks like it changed, like me? Do you really not like one small part of a room, but can’t figure out what to do with it?

I love 'touring' people's houses to see how they decorate. I'm loving your suspended desk. That's pretty cool.
I wish I could change my house around. Right now it's decorated with baby swing, exersaucer and toys. I do love watching HGTV and that somewhat inspires/motivates me to do something with my space, but then I'm way too tired to tackle a house project right now.

Ooh, I love the addition of that suspended desk! It looks amazing 🙂 Since you like to switch up your decor alot (I'm the same way) you should totally check out the giveaway I'm hosting on my blog. You might get lucky and win one of those fun pillow case covers. Hope to see you there.

If you buy a power strip, there will be one plug in the outlet and you can put the stip to the side/behind the ottoman thing and the rest of the cords can then be grouped and go straight down rather than a bunch of cords being pulled out to the outlet. does that make sense? it'll look a little neater, but you'll still see cords…. cords are sto frustrating. your house/decorating is beautiful! love your new desk area!

I LOVE your couch!! I wish I could change up my living room by stealing it (kidding…kind of). We're sort of stuck in this house because there's a weird nook in the living room and our furniture can only fit one way. As for the wire solution, I saw a fabric cover for a wire the other day. I think it was meant for a lamp or something, but maybe that would help.

Hi Jaime – I think I have a problem with NOT changing things around enough. Kind of get into a rut, you know? *sigh*. But I've always been an avoider of change – in all aspects of my life. Trying to change that! Anyway, I was curious if you could tell me anything about those green curtains? Love them! I want!! 🙂
